One Year
Can you believe it's been one year as of Oct. 7, 2014? 12 of the 18-24 months we were told we have? I distinctly remember the fear and sadness I felt, the pain Mike was in after surgery, the comfort of family close by, and the warmth of friends' prayers and messages of encouragement that continually touched us.
I will write more once we're home, but what a miracle of God and the beauty of science that Mike looks and almost feels as good as he did more than a year ago. We are embracing this time as a gift and learning to take each day as it comes. And we've celebrated tonight with lots of laughter - such a stark contrast.
And yes, what a difference one year can make when reading Oct. 7th of Jesus Calling... "Accept each day just as it comes to you, remembering that I am sovereign over your life. Rejoice in this day that I have made, trusting that I am abundantly present in it. Instead of regretting or resenting the way things are, thank Me in all circumstances. Trust Me and don’t be fearful; thank Me and rest in My sovereignty."
